The Perry County Democrats showed up to Schweizer Fest with a beautiful new tent and a team ready to welcome everyone who came by. Their previous tent was destroyed in a storm, which made seeing the new one standing proudly in Tell City feel especially good.

It was hot, so we handed out cold frozen treats to kids and adults alike. The shade and something cold helped, but the conversations were what made every hour in the heat worthwhile.

People talked with us about the hospital and what dependable local care means for families. They talked about representation, accountability, and the basic expectation that public officials should listen before making decisions that affect a community.

Schweizer Fest celebrates Tell City's heritage, but it also makes the community's present-day pride impossible to miss. You could feel it in the volunteers, the families, the local organizations, and every person who took the time to share what is on their mind.
